The Housing Development Board of Singapore contracted Ground Support Company Pte Ltd to build the service roads, drains and minor sewer works for Neighbourhood 6 Contract 12. This project would eventually house 800 people and thus the service drains and roads had to be built to cater for the need of a large munber of people in a confined space.
Pipe jacking was necessary for some of the deeper sewer lines as they could not be excavated with an open trench, due to their location within the construction traffic area. The service drains were all placed on timber bakau piles and the service roads were completed with interlocking pavers to give a finish that was both durable and aesthetically pleasing. Road signs and painting provided the finishing touches.
