Four very large housing estates were being constructed by four different contractors on behalf of the Housing Development Board of Singapore, and the estates all were to have large quantities of water run off that had to be catered for.

Ground Support Company Pte Ltd were contracted to provide the varying sizes of drains from 2.5 metre covered drains to 1.4 metre open drains stretching some 2 kilometres to cater for this extensive run off.

All types of drains used were placed on timber bakau piles and the 1.4 metre open drain was completed with 1.6 kilometres of safety railings and close turfing.
