Past Projects GREATWORLD - KIM SENG ROAD - Singapore

Promond-Seatown (JV) had a large basement to construct and needed a cost effective way to do it. Ground Support Company Pte Ltd was commissioned to design the sheet pile system and excavation sequence, and then consult on the design and the installation of its patented sheet piles. The basement had a perimeter of 780 metres with an excavation depth for a three level basement. Due to the expansive nature of the site it was not practical or cost effective to have horizontal struts spanning across the site.

Ground Support Company Pte Ltd designed a series of propping shafts at 10 metre centres, with 10 numbers of shafts being installed at any one time. After the installation of the struts the rear and side sheet piles were removed leaving the propped temporary sheet pile wall in place. This method was to be repeated, reusing the sheet pile for the strutting shafts 8 times during the course of the temporary works contract. Eventually, the entire perimeter was secured and the permanent works able to be completed.
