ESC Projects (M) Sdn Bhd were commissioned to provide strutting for a diaphragm wall project in the congested heart of down town Kuala Lumpur consisting of two levels of basement and 200m of wall.
Neighbouring properties included a Light Rail System and pre-war Protected Historical Buildings on pad footings.
ESC Projects (M) Sdn Bhd provided a complete geotechnical design, structural anlysis of the diaphragm wall, comprehensive design of the strutting system, and a method statement detailing strutting, excavation and permanent work sequencing.
Design specifications allowed a maximum of 10mm movement in the diaphragm wall. ESC employed a two level propping system consisting of preloaded diagonal props. This design supported all walls and allowed sufficient free space for the building lift cores to be slipformed without obstruction.
ESC Projects (M) Sdn Bhd finished the project ahead of schedule and met all the stringent criteria specified by the Consulting Engineers.
